NMR Structural Analysis Pipeline

RIKEN Yokohama Campus has the world largest NMR facility equipped with around 10 high performance NMR machines used for structural and functional analysis of proteins.

Utilizing the NMR facility, RIKEN determined more than 300 protein structures per year in the “Comprehensive Analysis Program” of the “National Project on Protein Structural and Functional Analysis” (“Protein 3000 project”) directed by Ministry of Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). On the basis of RIKEN’s know-how accumulated during the project, RIKEN constructed the NMR Structural Analysis Pipeline, in which a cascade of the processes, such as

Preparation of the stable isotope-labeled sample

NMR measurements

Structure determination are performed systematically
